AWS steps up support of startups in Peru

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has increased its presence in Peru and, with that its support of local startups. Alex Harasic, who previously founded startup Operatio, is now Business Development Manager, Startups & Venture Capital, for Chile and Peru.

As a tangible sign of its long term strategy in Peru, AWS recently joined PECAP, the Peruvian Association of Seed and Venture Capital, as affiliate member.

AWS has supported startups with credits previously through the Startup Peru program. Now, it is stepping up support by extending services through local accelerator programs and venture capital funds. This support also includes consulting and advisory services.

During the current Covid-19 crisis, Amazon Web Service is offering webinars and other information for optimizing and cutting costs.

Its great to have Alex, startup founder, leading this initiative. He will provide necessary empathy to current founders and play a role in improving access to the tecnological infratstructure that is the backbone on Peru’s startup ecosystem.
